Packs provides a form of instant communication between neighbors, town members, and nearby friends. You can create a custom pack for your friends, family, or sports leagues at any time!
You must be a ✅ verified user to join or create packs!
What is a Pack?
Think of a 🐺 Pack as a big group chat, but only users that verified their home address can view and access! Feel free to join any packs that interest you or create a new one.

How do I create a Pack?
- Log into the 📱 app
- Select the 🏠Home button on the bottom navigation bar
- Select the "+ Create" button
- Enter the Pack Name
- Enter a Description
- Select the Discoverability
- Select the "Create Pack" button
How do I find Packs?
- Log into the 📱 app
- Select the 🏠Home button on the bottom navigation bar
- Select the 🔍magnifying glass in the bottom right hand corner
- Search for packs using the Discover packs search bar or join a pack that is nearby (see the next question for what types of packs you can find in the search)
- Packs are always displayed in order of what packs are nearest to your verified home address.
📍 Packs display by default on the Discovery screen based on their proximity to your home address. The closest packs are listed first. It is important to note, that the verified home address associated to a pack is never displayed to Howl users.
What are the differences between the Pack Types?
A Public Pack is a Pack that can be found on the Discovery screen and any verified user can join without having to submit a request!
A Private and Discoverable Pack is a Pack that can be found on the Discovery screen and any verified user can request to join!
A Private and Hidden Pack is a Pack that cannot be found on the Discovery screen or anywhere throughout the app. Verified users can only find and join this Pack by being invited!
Can I report a pack?
Yes! If you are a member of the pack, visit the ℹ️ Pack Member Functionality knowledge base here.
If you are not a member of the pack, then follow these steps:
- Search for the pack on the Discovery screen
- Select the "..." button
- Select the 🚩 "Report pack" button
- Enter a reason for why you are reporting a pack and any supporting images
- Select "Send report"
Will new members be able to view message history?
Yes! Once a new members join any pack, they will be able to view all message history!
ℹ️ Members of a pack will see when 🆕new members join the pack through in-line annotations.
