Signing Up‍

The first step to joining your neighbors and community on Howl is to create an account on our mobile application. You can also sign up on our website.

Where can I download the application? 

• Google Play Store
• Apple Store
• Website (www.howl.com): Enter in your phone number at the top of the screen to get a direct link to download the application. 

How do I sign up once I have downloaded 📱the app?

1. Select the SIGN UP button to 🏁 start
2. Enter your 📧 email address OR by select one of the following social accounts:
   1. Google
   2.  Apple
3. If you sign up by entering your 📧 email address, enter a valid email address that you can access
4. If you sign up by selecting a social account, follow the prompts provided by the social account platform and then continue to step 7
5. Once you enter a valid email address, enter a password (must have at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and at least one number)
6. Select Create My Account
7. Enter a valid US mobile 🔢 phone number
8. Select Next
9. Enter the code that was sent to the 🔢 phone number entered
10. Select Next
11. Read through the 📜 Howl Handbook and select the ✅ I agree button
    Note: If you don't agree to the 📜 Howl Handbook, you cannot successfully create a Howl account. All Howl users must agree to the Howl Handbook.
12. Enter your full name
13. Select Next
14. Enter your street address along with apartment, suite, and/or unit number if applicable
15. Select Next
16. If the Instant Verification method works, select Start chatting
17. If the Instant Verification method does not work, go to step 20
18. Add a profile picture OR select the SKIP button
19. Select Next
20. Choose your preferred 🏠 address verification. 
    1. If you do not prefer to 😔 verify right away, you can become an unverified user with limited access, which does creates a Howl account (although we 💪 strongly suggest all Howl users ✅ verify!). 
21. Follow the steps to complete 🏠 address verification. 
    1. If you start the verification process and 😱 do not complete the steps by closing the application, your account will be created as a unverified user account with limited access.

How do I sign up once I am on the 🖥️ website? 

1. Select the button in the top right hand corner of the website.
2. You can choose to sign up using your 📧 email address OR by using one of the following social accounts:
   1. Google
   2.  Apple
   3. Facebook
3. If you sign up using your 📧 email, enter a valid email that you can access
4. Once you enter an email, enter a password (must have at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and at least one number)
5. Select SIGN UP
6. Enter a valid US mobile 🔢 phone number
7. Select SEND CODE
8. Enter the code that was sent to the 🔢 phone number entered
9. Select VERIFY
10. Select the link that was sent to the 🔢 phone number entered
11. Download the app and follow the steps in the app to 🏁 finish signing up

What if I do not receive the phone verification code?

If you enter the wrong phone number or don't receive the code for another reason, please contact support@howl.com and we will assist you in creating a new account

Why do I receive a 🤭 "User already exists" error when entering my phone number?

This means an account has been created with that email, please contact support@howl.com and we will assist you in creating a new account

Why do I receive a 🤭 "phone number is already used" error when entering my phone number?

This means an account has been created with that phone number, please contact support@howl.com and we will assist you in creating a new account
