Pack Admin Functionality

Pack Administrators have actions available to them that members do not! We expect all Pack Administrators to abide by our Howl Handbook, and take action on members who are breaking the Handbook rules.

There can only be 🙋1 admin per 🐺 pack!

How do I become a Pack Administrator?

After you have successfully created a Pack (whether private or public), you are automatically assigned as the pack's administrator. A private pack administrator has more responsibilities than a public pack administrator. Someone can also promote you to become the new admin of a pack you are a member of.

What actions are available to me as a Pack Administrator?

Action  How it works
Remove a pack member pack members are removed from the pack and can rejoin the pack at anytime; private packs require accepted requests.
Report a pack member pack members remain in the pack but are reported to Howl Administrators to review if they are not adhering to the Howl Handbook
Ban a pack member pack members are banned from the pack and cannot rejoin
Resign & promote new administrator an admin that wants to remain as part of the pack but wants to become a member; admins select a new admin and the selected pack member is automatically assigned as the new administrator. All outstanding invites and reported messages will be transferred over to the new admin.
Leave a pack an admin that wants to leave must assign a member to become the new admin
Accept/Reject join requests administrators of private packs are required to accept or reject members requests to join
Delete the entire pack chat an admin may only delete the pack chat if there are no members
Update pack details an admin is the only member of the pack that can modify the pack's description, privacy settings, and pack image
Manage reported messages an admin can decide whether to remove or keep a message a member has reported to them. They can also decide to ban the user from the pack or report them to Howl for further investigation.
Instantly remove a message an admin can long press on any message in a pack to remove it right away from the pack.
